Description
These brainy-meaty meatballs are the perfect dog treat recipe to boost your dog’s brain health.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- ¼ cup beef liver
- 1 egg (no shell)
- ¼ cup blueberries (or other berries)
- ¼ cup spinach (or other leafy greens)
- 1 tbsp parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Wash blueberries, spinach, and parsley
- Ground all ingredients in a food processor, or chop smaller
- Mix all ingredients together in a bowl
- Form into small meatballs, about the diameter of a dime
- Place meatballs on baking sheet
- Bake for 10-12 minutes
- Let cool
- Add on top of your dog’s regular food or give as a treat
- Store in an airtight container
- Feed within 3 days and freeze any extras
Notes
- If you freeze them, an easy way to stop the meatballs from sticking together is to put them in ice cube trays before transferring them to an air tight container.
- If you make these on a regular basis, switch out the ingredients to keep your dog on their toes. Swap the liver for beef or chicken hearts. Go for apples instead of blueberries. Try broccoli in place of leafy greens. The sky really is the limit, and you can easily use what you already have in the fridge to supplement!
