If your dog is experiencing acute diarrhea, this simple, holistic protocol from Dr. Katie Woodley will help quickly soothe inflammation, absorb toxins, firm stools, and restore healthy gut bacteria naturally.

1. HERBAL TEA BLEND

Ingredients (makes about 1 cup dried blend):

  • Marshmallow Root: 2 tbsp (soothes gut lining)
  • Goldenseal Root: 2 tbsp (short-term use only; fights pathogens, reduces inflammation)
  • Chamomile Flowers: 2 tbsp (calms cramping and inflammation)
  • Agrimony Herb: 1 tbsp (helps firm stools)
  • Meadowsweet Herb: 3 tbsp (reduces inflammation)

How to Make the Tea:

  • Combine all dried herbs.
  • Store in airtight jar.
  • Steep 1 tbsp herbal blend in 1 cup boiling water for 15–20 minutes.

  • Medium Dogs (21–50 lbs): ½ tsp
  • Large Dogs (51–90 lbs): ¾-1 tsp
